Child Protection Policy
With a view to safeguarding children and young persons who come into its care for temporary periods for such purposes as coaching, team matches and other Golf related events and to ensure that all steps are taken to provide suitable persons to undertake such care and to ensure that such persons are aware of the duty of care standards expected of them the Glasgow Golf Union has prepared this document and will use the Scottish Golf Union Limited Central Vetting System.

Parental Consent
To allow a child or young person under the age of 18 to participate in a Glasgow Golf Union competition or tournament we require full parental consent from the child’s parents.
Before downloading the parental consent form and completing please ensure you have fully read the child protection policy document.
Once you have read the child protection policy, download the parental consent form below, print it off, complete and hand in to the child’s club secretary or junior development officer. Please remember this consent form is a legal document.

Under 14's Skills test
The objective of the Under 14’s Skills Test is to encourage junior golfers to practice and develop their short game skills.
Held annually with 2 Junior Golfers from each club under 14 years of age, at the 1st January each year.
The competition is run by Alistair Forsyth PGA Professional and consists of tests in 11 basic skills in the following:
- 1m Putt & 2m Putt
- Downhill and Uphill Putts
- Chipping, Bunker and Pitch
- Wedge, 9 Iron, 5 Iron and Drive
Points are awarded for successful completion of each skill test and the Junior Golfer with the highest number of points is awarded a Glasgow Golf Union Voucher.
