The Glasgow Open Amateur Championship was held held at Pollok Golf Club on Sunday 26th September.
Just minutes from Glasgow city centre and set in Pollok Country Park’s secluded mature woodland, Pollok is arguably Scotland’s finest city suburban course. Maintained to the highest standard, the course is a proper test for golfers of all abilities to enjoy.
Lindsay Miller wins the GGU Glasgow Open Championship.
The day started calm and fairly clear with scarcely any wind or rain.
As the morning progressed however the wind freshened and by mid afternoon a showery blustery weather pattern developed . This had an impact on scoring as the day matured largely because, not only did the wind strengthen, but it swirled around through and above the trees which grace the Pollok course.
The course was, as ever, in great condition with the greens putting very well.
The winner from the field of elite golfers was Lindsay Miller of Cawder Golf Club with rounds of 68 & 69 for a superb total of 137.
Lindsay finished 3 shots ahead of Craig Chalmers of Western Gailes and Stephen Machin of Cowglen.
